The Miami Country Day School girls’ varsity soccer team (24-4) reached states for the first time in program history. The Spartans captured their third consecutive district championship and beat Palmer Trinity in the regional quarterfinals en route to winning the school’s first regional title in girls’ soccer by defeating South Florida Heat. They competed in the state semifinals where they were edged by Lakeland Christian 2-1. Miami Country Day was led by freshmen Laurel Ivory, Ava Hansen, Yakira Matisonn and Amanda Martin.
